About Midori

Midori is a happy Azuki. She lives in The Garden and runs The Beanz Barrel, a raucous shop where she and her Beanz share the joy of hoarding.  Her job is humble, her station is low.  Midori is happy Azuki.

Midori wakes each morning before sunrise.  She is greeted first by Ken, her Black Bean. Ken lives in Midori’s green ponytail. He shifts in and out of the dark green shadows, Clinging to Midori’s strands, …spinning a Shuriken in his hands.

Midori then sees her childhood friend, Ayaka.  Ayaka is a hopeful Edamame Bean, with a cheerful expression and a soft smile. Ayaka reminds Midori of the day’s agenda. She shakes the keys to The Beanz Barrel in her hand.

Midori makes her way through the mountains of Hilumia, across hanging bridges, down steps of rock, down to The Garden.  She pauses by the waterfalls,  feeling the gentle caress of a fine mist. The sun is beginning to rise. Midori looks for the sparkle she knows she will find.…

Suddenly, her Golden Bean Benji appears from the sky, Lands on her shoulder, And says “Hi!”
